Flag retirement ceremony held (Southside Sentinel)

Boy Scouts from Troops 341, 345 and 370 participated in a flag retirement ceremony sponsored by American Legion Post 82 in Saluda last Saturday. Above, Joe Nelson of Troop 341 places one of the 107 old flags into the fire. Under the U.S. Flag Code, burning is the preferred manner of disposal.
